SMS & Voice Retirement: Passkeys by Default

Microsoft is retiring native SMS and voice MFA in Entra ID. Starting September 1, 2026, users enabled for SMS or voice are automatically enrolled for passkey registration. Full retirement of Microsoft-provided telecom delivery lands February 1, 2027.
